Holiday Decor Roundup

Decorating our home for the holidays is one of my absolute favorite traditions. I adore the warm glow of twinkle lights, the joy of unwrapping cherished heirloom pieces I've collected over the years, and the fresh scent of greenery that fills the air. For us, this season is all about connecting with family and friends while also finding time to relax in the comfort of our home. Each year, we love to add one or two new decorations to our holiday collection, ensuring it continues to grow and evolve. Today, I’m sharing our holiday decor roundup. We hope you enjoy the warm glow this season can bring as much as we do.

vintage velvet ornaments

There is something so special about those well loved or vintage inspired pieces. Layering pre-loved pieces in with those that are shiny and new adds such depth and charm to your home. If you’re lacking in local thrift shops, Etsy has some amazing sources for holiday decor. We love these velvet ornaments in warm greens, beiges and taupes for those who love a neutral holiday look.

long taper candles

When the days get shorter there is nothing that makes a home feel more cozy than the warm glow of flickering candles. There is something so elegant about loooooong tapers on your table or mantle. We love these slim and minimal tapers and candle holders from Zara Home (who by the way has an amazing holiday assortment!).

a touch of green

Every year I make a point of hand making at least one wreath with fresh greenery. Having gone to a few workshops over the years, I feel confident enough in my wreath making skills to give it a try (perfection is not required!), but if you’re not there yet, seek out a local florist or maker who can provide you with hand crafted wreaths, garlands or festive arrangments. You can feel good about supporting a local small business owner! We love the creations of Kelowna based Shibang Designs.

set the table

While I personally don’t have much in terms of ‘holiday tablewear’ I have been eyeing a few sweet pieces found in my online travels. These nostaligic mugs are perfect for curling up with a cup of hot tea or coffee by the fireplace. If your drink of choice is more bubbly than steamy, these sweet gold etched star coupes add a nice festive touch.

For the kids

While I admire a neutral and minimal holiday setup, I am a firm believer in the nostalgic and youthful spirit of the season. There is room for neutral white lights and immaculately designed decor vignettes alongside of colourful string lights and red and white santa’s village motifs! Here are a few of our favourite pieces that appeal to the young and the young at heart.
